Do you want voluminous, luscious, shiny hair? Our tips can help you get closer to your goal!
1. Study you hair
There are three phases of hair growth. Anagen is a period of active growth, catagen is the middle phase, when the hair cells mature, and the follicle (root) gets shorter, finally, telogen is the resting period, when the hair becomes weak and can easily fall out. It usually happens when there’s a new hair growing under it. As a rule, approximately 85-90% of human hair are going through anagen phase, 1% in catagen phase, and the rest – in the resting phase. But this system can be disrupted, which may cause your hair to go into telogen phase faster, thus becoming brittle and falling out.
2. Find out why you’re shedding hair
A normal hair growth cycle can be disrupted due to certain changes in your body – pregnancy, diseases, stress, or hormonal imbalance. If the condition of your hair rapidly worsened, it may be a sign of an underlying medical condition, in which case you might want to make an appointment with your doctor.
3. Follow a diet
Follow a diet enriched with vitamins and minerals that can contribute to health and beauty of your hair. Folic acid can help make your hair thicker. Its source is beans and cereal. Vitamin C will help promote keratin production. You can find it in citric plants. Vitamin A makes your scalp healthier – time to add spinach to your diet! Vitamin B can prevent hair shedding. It can be found in red meat.
The reason for weak and brittle hair can be frequent washes and use of hair dryer. In order to provide deep hydration for your hair, use a nurturing hair mask once a week. Apply to wet hair and leave on for 20 minutes. If your hair became dry and brittle, use more leave-in products regularly.
5. Massage your scalp
Regular scalp massage will increase blood flow to your hair follicles. Apply coconut oil or jojoba oil to wet or dry scalp and massage in circular motions. Afterward, wrap your head in a wet towel and leave it on for 10 minutes.
6. Add volume.
Use nurturing and styling products specifically designed to add volume to your hair. Shampoos, conditioners and other products made for fine hair contain special ingredients that add volume to each individual hair.
7. Choose the right color
The right hair color can create an illusion of volume. Highlights (one or multiple colors) is one of the most common methods of achieving this. Consult your hairdresser to choose a color that compliments you.
