Continue by knitting odd rows like row 17, and even rows like row 18. Every 10th RS Row (even row) is like row 22. Knit until you get the length you need.

Finish by decreasing to match increases at other end as follows:

Decrease Row 1/K5, k2tog, k12, k2tog, k5 (24 stitches remain)

Row 2/K6, p12, k6

Row 3/k4, k2tog, k12, k2tog, k4 (22 st remain)

Row 4/k5, p12, k5

Row 5/k3, k2tog, k12, k2tog, k3 (20 st remain)

Row  6/k4, p12, k4

Row 7/k2, k2tog, k12, k2tog, k2 (18 st. remain)

Row 8/k3, p12, k3

Row 9/k1,k2tog, k12, k2tog, k1 (16 remain)

Row 19/k2, p12, k2

Row 20/k2tog, k12, k2tog (14 remain)

Row 21/k1, p12, k1

Begin ribbed edging:

Slip 14 remaining stitches onto a long, circular needle.  Pick up stitches in each garter ridge on one side, each cast on stitch at the end, and each garter ridge up the other side, adjusting so that the number of stitches is a multiple of 4. Continue knitting in the round in K2P2 ribbing for 7 rows. Bind off loosely in ribbing pattern.

I-cord Flower

Work 72 cm of I-cord as follows:

Cast on 3 stitches on a double-pointed needle. Knit the stitches using another double-pointed needle. Do not turn work, but push stitches to other end of needle, pull working yarn around back of work, and knit stitches again. Continue, always pulling the yarn tight at back of work, until the cord is 72 cm long. Knit 3 stitches together. Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing the flower onto the scarf.

Arrange the cord to make 6 petals, each 12 cm around. Sew petals to the scarf, using the long tail from the binding off.
